Vietnam’s economic growth is projected to reach an impressive 6.1% in 2024, driven by a robust recovery in manufactured exports, tourism, consumption, and business investment, according to the World Bank’s new report on August 26th.
During the first half of the year, Vietnam's economy benefited from a rebound in export demand. To sustain growth, the World Bank recommends structural reforms, increased public investment, and managing financial risks. Developing capital markets is vital for Vietnam’s goal of becoming a high - income nation by 2045. The report highlights challenges like an underdeveloped investor base and suggests stronger policies to reclassify Vietnam as an Emerging Market and attract foreign investment.
